Originally from Romania, Modest Bursucianu began his artistic training at the tender age of 12 at the Octav Bancila fine arts school in the city of Iasi, an institution which, since the beginning of the 19 th century, has been recognised as one of the first cultural and scholastic centres of the country, the birthplace of the greatest Romanian writers, poets, philosophers, and musicians. It is this city that he began his career as a painter while studying at the George Enescu University of Music and Fine Arts. This building career was pursued and enriched upon his arrival in Quebec, where he studied fine arts at University of Quebec at Montreal, exhibited his work alone and with the group Versus with whom he is still associated, and eventually become an art teacher (Florentina Lungu B.A., M.A, Art Sociologist and Historian, Art Critic and Journalist, Art Magazine Parcours, Montreal June 2003).
Painting, drawing, stamp, miniature and wood icon, exhibitions since 1979 around the world. In Canada he exhibited in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec and Trois Rivières, in the United States in New-York and Chicago, in Europe in Romania and Italy.
Currently exhibiting art works in Gallery 49 New York, Galerie Artitude Montreal, Galerie Studio 261 Montreal, Virtual Gallery Artloggia, Toronto, Ontario and private collections throughout Canada, United States, Japan and Europe. Created with professionalism, the works of Modest Bursucianu are a syntheses of the modern North American artistic experience combined with European art school.
